This laptop, priced at around 2.5 lakh rupees, is no less than a treat for gamers. HP OMEN 16 is a gaming laptop that is incredibly powerful. It's a high-end laptop that comes with a robust processor, high-end graphics, and an amazing display. After using HP OMEN 16 for about a week, let's see how its overall performance was in gaming and day-to-day tasks.

HP OMEN 16 Design:

This laptop comes in a stylish shadow black color. Nowadays, people prefer compact laptops because they are more portable. In this regard, this laptop is quite large and feels heavy, weighing 2.32 kilograms. Carrying it around from the office to meetings can be a bit challenging. It has a matte finish on top, which gives it a classy look. However, fingerprints can be a hassle to remove from it. The ventilation is also quite good, and the laptop doesn't get too hot during everyday use.

Talking about the ports, it has a variety of them. It includes 1 USB Type-C port, 1 USB Type-A port, 1 RJ-45, 1 headphone/microphone combo, 1 AC smart pin, and 1 HDMI 2.1 port. The best part is that the ports are provided on three sides. The charging port, HDMI, and USB are located on the back side. The video-watching experience was fantastic. The colors were vivid and bright, and the detailing was excellent. Even in movies or scenes with a lot of black, there were no issues. The display quality is so good that even the smallest details in videos won't be missed.

As for the webcam, it features a physical shutter and an HP True Vision 1080p FHD webcam. The company has improved it by offering 1080 pixels. Video calling or attending meetings with this laptop offers better video quality.

HP OMEN 16 Performance:

It is equipped with a 13th generation Intel Core i7-13700HX processor. It also has a 1TB SSD and 32GB of RAM. It can handle all office tasks easily. I usually prefer working with my laptop plugged in all day. During this time, I didn't face any issues. Even with 25 to 30 tabs open in Chrome simultaneously, the laptop did not hang. I use my laptop for typing work all day, and I typed for 8 to 9 hours straight without any problems. However, carrying it around in the office or running around for meetings can be difficult. It is suitable to keep it in one place, but not for portability.

Now, let's talk about gaming. It provides a smooth gaming experience. There was a slight lag in the initial stages, but after that, there were no issues. Its fans are completely silent and do not disturb during gaming. It performs better when plugged in for gaming. Heating can be a problem during gaming, but it's a common issue with gaming laptops. One major reason for heating in the HP OMEN 16 is the limited ventilation pockets. The graphics during gaming were impressive, thanks to the NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4080 graphics card. Overall, gaming performance was good.

Speaking of the keyboard, it features a backlit keyboard. With orange, purple, and blue lighting, the keyboard is easy to use at night. You can customize the keyboard backlight colors according to your preference through Omen Hub. Apart from that, you can control everything from performance to network settings during gaming. It has Bang & Olufsen speaker grilles. The keyboard is highly responsive and quite loud. It makes a loud sound while typing, which might be irritating during gaming.

Regarding sound, it comes with dual speakers. The volume is quite loud, and the video experience during movies or web series is fantastic. Even if there is some noise around, you won't be bothered by its sound.

Battery: It has a 6-cell 83Wh battery. I usually prefer working with my laptop plugged in all day. During this time, I didn't face any issues with the battery. However, during gaming sessions without charging, the battery lasted for 1.5 to 2 hours, which is relatively low compared to other laptops.
