There's some concerning news for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) fans. Indeed, the star fast bowler of the team, Ibadot Hussain, is now out of the upcoming World Cup 2023 due to a serious injury.
Ibadot Hussain Out Of World Cup 2023:
Bangladesh Cricket Board has suffered another major setback as the BCB authorities announced on Wednesday that fast bowler Ibadot Hussain won't be able to participate in the 2023 One-Day International World Cup due to an injury sustained during his recent domestic match. Ibadot Hussain will require surgery for his injury, which means he won't be available for selection in the squad for the 2023 World Cup. According to cricket insiders, BCB's chief selector Minhajul Abedin stated on Wednesday that Ibadot won't be available for us during the World Cup. He said, "This is a big blow for us because he needs surgery on his injury. As a result, we cannot consider him for the World Cup. It will take at least three to four months for him to recover."
Ibadot Hussain suffered an injury during a One-Day International match against Afghanistan last month. As a result, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). This injury has ruled him out not only of the World Cup but also the Asia Cup in 2023. His place in the squad for the Asia Cup has been taken by Tanjim Saqib.
The absence of Ibadot Hussain from the Bangladesh team for the World Cup 2023 has been a source of disappointment for the team's ODI captain Shakib Al Hasan and head coach Chandika Hathurusingha. Shakib had told reporters in Dhaka on August 26, "Ibadot is not with us, and it's very sad. Because he was an important part of our team, and losing him at this stage is quite disappointing."
In Ibadot's absence, Taskin Ahmed will take on the responsibility of leading the fast bowling attack. Bangladesh faced a significant setback on Wednesday with Liton Das also ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023 due to an injury. Liton Das was not available when Bangladesh played against Sri Lanka on August 27. Das was supposed to participate in the match on August 28, but he couldn't due to a high fever, which prevented him from traveling to Sri Lanka.
